Wilderness Orientation
DISCLAIMER: before you read this post, you MUST watch this. Thank you!
So, as you guys (probably) know i'm going to Wilderness Orientation which is 3 days trip for hiking and camping mostly. It was super duper fun. We have all girls team which is rarely happen during orientation. You know that kind of conversations that only girls understand and no man allowed to hear any of that. That why all girls team are the best. If i could say, the first 3 days here are like hell. but after i comeback from this trips, my whole perspective about being here changed. I became more confident to talk to other student, just not thinking too much and don't give a sht about what others might think about you. Just simply be yourself and find friends who you felt comfortable to talk with them. Not a 'friend' that you want to friend with because of a reason, either is because their famous, their face, etc etc etc. Just as simple as that and you'll be totally fine in today's society.
Okay so mainly in this post i want to tell you about something that i realize during Reflection Time (you might know what is it about if you watch my video in my youtube channel). And i'm gonna post all my favs photos that i took yesterday.
Reflection Time
It was my favorite memories. Here you can look back at what you've been through all the past few days. or maybe a little important things that just passed to you without realizing how important that litte things is. Honestly, my heart felt really calm when i had this session. It felt really good staying in the peak even for 15 minutes to just have time for yourself, think about what you really want right know. Everyone in the school always told you to go out and make friends socialize with others but i realize that it's not a sin to stay in your room just doing 'your thing' and have private time for yourself. It's all about balancing life in uwc-usa. I may not be really good at this but at least, i will keep growing as the time pass by. Hopefully.
Other thing that i want to share with you guys is here we have such a freaking good habits. Especially in the woods. We were taught to not left ANY TRASH, seriously guys ANY! we don't even let little food crumbs, we we finish our snack we have to keep the plastic bag and throw it away when we go back to the school. We even keep our "toilet tissue" if you used that for poop-ing in the woods. We also told to not pee-ing near the river or water. and when we poop-ing, we have to dig a hole first then after we finish our business, we can cover the poop with the dirt. They do really care about nature which is rarely happen in Indonesia.
Not only about nature, they also teach me how to set up a tent, cook in the woods, knot a rope, read a map, and even tips and trick for hiking, what to wear, campsite, weather, purify the water, et cetera. If you guys ask how was the hike, i'll just answer with a smile :). We have to hike with our heavy backpack to go to the campsite. And the next day we hay Day Hike which means we can bring smaller bag but you have to go up hill a lot to reach the peak which is sucks.
I hate up hill! too tiring and not fun at all. But i loves doing down hill after see the beautiful scenery. Naive, i know haha. But then again i realize something that can make your life 100% easier because you don't have to stress about this,
No Achievement without hard work!!
don't go stress if you haven't accomplish your goals, or every plan yo have always fail, or just you already work hard for something but then the result just sucks. Here the thing, when you want to go to the peak to see amazing landscape, you have to go through the up and down hill for a couple of hours. It goes the same as life guys. there's nothing instant in this world except indomie /hahaha/ but i'm serious i used to think i am a person that mostly always get what i want since my elementary school. But then after i came here i realize there's nothing like that. I always work hard for that without even realize that i work hard. I do lost many moments or memories to reach all my goals back then. And now i have to endure all the pain, struggle, fight with my fullest, and just go for it and the result will always follow your effort.
That's all guys for tonight, i have my first full classes tomorrow so i should go to bed early. Hope this post could help you somehow and enjoy the picture below~~
We have our own pace, the world's doesn't matter, what matter is you.
