It is indeed the month of love...

Valentine Day!

For some reason, classes canceled today. It said Day of Rest but I'm not quite sure why is that. Anyway, It's a good thing because I can prepare for Yule Ball and have a nice chill day and an additional weekend. But, other than that, It's also a Valentine Day!! I am glad I was born in February, the month of love. Throughout the week till Yule Ball, I've witnessed so much love, receiving or giving, from all my close friends. The feeling of happiness was shared by so many people. This day of rest also gives students a break from academics and really taking care of themselves either by doing nothing or spend time with the loved one. Nevertheless, I am happy that I got to see the abundance amount of love around campus lately.

For today, me and my little dongsaeng, Fiona from China and South Korea will sing Korean song together for Love Cafe. It was our first performance together and I am nervous because my pronunciation wasn't the best. I got to get closer to my Korean Culture thanks to Fiona! Whenever we see each other, we talked in Korean and that gives me comfort and joy. I am grateful for it!

Anyway, in short, we performed together. The song called Soulmate by Zico and IU. It was a fun time, the cafe itself also filled with people expressing love to others. I wasn't able to stay until the end. One of the songs that my friend sang (The Only Exception) trigger me and I can't stay there. I ended up going back to my room and well just got reminded by the past memories that I had. It was pretty bad the moment I came back to the room, but as always, in the end, I am always fine.

YULE BALL

Pictures first before stories!

AND THE LONG AWAITED EVENT IS HERE!! Yule ball is finally here, my senior prom. I also achieved my hidden goals which only me and myself know ;) I was feeling great the whole night aside from my insecurities about my dress lol. Anyway, It was a great night. My date was Mays, another hijabi girl which I appreciate and adore so much. The whole day was a preparation for Yule Ball lol. I take care of my skin, wear tons of mask and other skincare. I even helped couple of people to get their make up done! Well, I wasn't exactly the best to do makeup for others but I'm glad all the money I put into makeup products could be used.

I and my date started to do makeup at 2pm when the event starts at 4.30pm lol. I was doing it super slow as I wanted to make sure the base is perfect and set properly in my face. I bought the dress and accessories for less than $20!! isn't that crazy! I got the great velvet dress from a thrift store when I was in Brooklyn and accessories in Queens. What's crazy is I spent more than triple of those number on makeup itself -_- I resent Sephora so much for always trigging my desire to get good quality, yet expensive makeup.

In short, I did all my preparation and started to go to the dining hall around 5.15pm. I took many pictures with friends, witness so many people wearing nice clothing and looking hella GEWD! I was so happy to see everyone having fun starting from the opening, dinner, clue-hunting, and the dance party. Very memorable moments that I know I will cherish forever. It may be different from my experience last year, but nevertheless, I am having fun all night and glad that I did not look back on my past memories anymore.
