another typical weekday with tons of work...

IA DONE

IB reality started to become real… this week I have 2 IA that need to be done. It’s for Economics and Environmental Science and Society. Even though it’s an only rough draft, I really want to do a great job and impress my teacher lol. So, the plan for this week is to finish the IA before Friday so I could have fun on Friday night and hang out with my friends. I got lots of help from my peers about the IA and from Goldi as well. Oh and I managed to finish it by Thursday! Yippee ~

Summer Program

This Program is the best summer program you could ever ask for. If you got accepted into this program, they will pay all the expenses including your flight from LAX/NYA/SEA to your destination and going back to the airport. It took me a week to write the essay. I really want to get accepted here to spend a whole month of my summer break in Japan. Oh yeah! We have to choose 3 programs that you want to join and they have a lot of option. There are the one Japan, France, Albania, Italy, Marocco, Mexico, China, and any other places. Just visit this LINK if you want to know more about it!

Lots rehearsal for Theatre

Phantom. Our first ‘real’ collaborative performance with our class. We’ve done a group performance before with Nandita, but it’s not connected with one storyline, it’d more likely to be an individual monologue and do it in one time. This time is different, Nandita left and we have a new teacher. His name is Brent. He’s a cool guy. He acted for two years and he really does have a theater basic skill, unlike Nandita. It doesn’t mean Nandita is a bad teacher, She’s a real badass. I feel like Brent is more structured and theoretical compare to Nandita. Nandita always let us do the thing we want, but Brent more like ‘okay we’re doing this’. But anyway, that’s the background story lol

This performance called “Sinbad the Sailor” is a 45min play filled with a bunch of different accents. Also, with a real costume. At first, we were excited with this play but after a lot of rehearsal, we get sick of it and tired of rehearsing a kinda dumb play. Because it’s originally a play for children and it touches a lot of sensitive topics to make fun of. For example, cross-dressing, sexist, stereotypical that woman is dumb, jokes about the Arab, and any other controversial aspect of this play. That’s why after we rehearse a lot we realize this play is problematic. But, it’s too late to change the play so we ended up just do it. A week before the D-day, we rehearse every night after check or before the check. Even though this play might not be the best play we’ve ever tried, but I’m still excited to see how this will turn out!

MIND Weddings

My roomie just got married! Nahh just kidding guys don’t get triggered. Mind is just in the tip our tongue! We’ll have another cultural day in less than a month! <<which means another late night rehearsal for tech : )) >> And they started to promote MIND through this wedding culture. Mind itself stands for Middle-east and Indian sub-conti National Day. So, we’ll have two weddings, one for middle-east and one for sub-conti family. They invite the whole campus to attend the wedding wearing a fancy clothes like an actual wedding. LOTSSS of people in campus loved it! Cuz they had lots of dancing with Arabic music and Bollywood music. It’s so much fun and my roomie is the bride for the middle-east wedding!
